Beyond the Boxsal: Muslin bag remix part 1

Boxsal, as you know, is about a fun time outside with friends. It’s also about sustaining that outside environment for great times to come. Part of how we do this is by ensuring all of the parts that make up Boxsal are 100% compostable and as reusable as possible.

Now, the Boxsal itself can be used over and over for picnics, and then over again as a gift box, an alternative suitcase, storage, care packages and more. Another part of the package that many DIY-ers love are the muslin bags that hold the Eatin’ Tools. Wedding blogs are filled with beautiful takes on the muslin wedding favor, and we’ll collect examples of those in a few weeks. But this week, we want to share some other ideas for the muslin bag that will help you organize your home or office:

  • Food storage: Store flour, corn, dried beans and rice. It takes less room to stack than plastic containers, so you can buy bulk.
  • Produce bag: Ditch the plastic and the annoying twist ties.
  • Lunch bag. No more disposable paper sacks.
  • Office supply storage. Organize your pens, pencils, paperclips, erasers, crayons and knickknacks.
  • Store stationery. Keep your fine stationery, envelopes, letterheads and cards in a muslin bag to save space on your shelf.

Check back next week for more muslin bag ideas. The next remix takes the muslin bags on the road.
